Welcome...

This blog is about life in general and everything in between. Most of the articles posted here are from people who generously shared their lives to others. This is my tribute to them.

Journey with me today. Let's talk about life and how to live it fully everyday.

It is my prayer that as we learn from each other, we will be able to bring out the best of who we are, as God intended us to be - His children living a life of excellence and fullness.

ALL for HIS glory and honor!

God bless my friends,
Yheleen

Are you the caring, sharing type?

Test out your sharing status with this quiz...

1. You’re off to buy your usual magazine, a can of drink and some crisps at the shop. You have just the right cash. Someone is collecting money for the orphanage near the entrance. What’s your reaction?

a) Oh no! But you have a cunning plan. You rush past as if you’re in a terrible hurry on the way in and sneak behind them once you’ve bought your treats. Result!

b) You fish around in your pocket. Luckily you find a spare 5p. In the box it goes and you can still get your treats.

c) You put most of your money in, just keeping your crisps money for yourself. You know it’s going to a good cause and you can survive without the drink and mag.

2. You hear that someone at school is planning a sponsored fun run this holiday. The aim is to raise P10,000.00 for the orphanage. How involved do you get?

a) It’s not your cup of tea so you don’t expect you’ll be taking part — at all — plus it clashes with your favorite TV program.

b) You volunteer as soon as you find out about it, get hold of the sponsor forms and start gathering sponsors right away.

c) You’re happy to sponsor a couple of your friends and you’ll probably turn up to watch, but you don’t plan to run.

3. How do you feel — honestly now — when you hear a out how people are suffering in poor countries at the same time as rich countries are getting richer?

a) You’ll happily put coins in a collection box but you can’t really think what else you can do.

b) It’s not nice knowing that people are starving but it’s nothing to do with you and there’s nothing you can do.

c) You get angry and upset. You’ll put what you can in collection boxes but given the chance to do more — like helping organise a fundraising event at school — you’ll jump at it.

4. It’s the first anniversary of the tsunami and there’s a big program on TV about how people are coping and how money given by the government is being spent. Do you...

a) Watch it but if you’re really honest, you want to see dramatic film footage of the wave again rather than anything else.

b) Watch it with great interest. You gave money and want to know how the people in tsunami-hit areas are living now.

c) Tsunami? What’s a tsunami?

5. There’s a group from your school going to the plaza for a massive MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY rally. Thousands of people plus a sprinkling of celebrities will be there. Your place is already booked. What are you looking forward to the most?

a) Just the experience of so many thousands of people getting together to protest about something you feel really strongly about and want to play a part in changing.

b) The chance for some celebrity spotting, having a good time with your friends and maybe meeting some new ones.

c) Sneaking off to some street, buying some cool stuff and making it back to the meeting place before anyone has noticed you weren’t ever around.

6. Some people at your school are setting up a Fair Trade stall selling chocolates during the holidays. What’s your main reason for buying a bar of chocolate from them rather than the vending machine?

a) The girl/boy of your dreams is serving behind the stall and it’s your big chance to get chatting.

b) You know the people in other countries who have made the chocolate will get properly paid for doing it.

c) You’re supporting the people who have spent the time and effort setting the stall up.

WHAT’S YOUR SCORE?

15-18:

Congratulations. You are a star sharer. You don’t just think of the ins and outs of your own life. You’re more than willing to share your energies and actions doing something about issues of world importance and you know the score when it comes to doing your bit to shape the future of the poorest countries in the world. Impressive!

9-14

Not bad. Not bad at all. Your heart is in the right place, you have a strong caring, sharing streak and you want to be able to help others. Perhaps sometimes you’re not quite sure how to go about it and occasionally you may be a touch reluctant to put the effort in. But overall you’re doing fine. Keep it up.

6-8

Mmm. Let’s just say ‘must try harder’. You may not be a total ‘me, me, me’ type, but it’s worth putting a bit more effort into the caring, sharing side of your nature. It’s in there somewhere. And bringing it out will make you feel good — so there’s something in there for you as well as the world’s poorest. Could try harder!
